It’s the best feeling I’ve ever had on the water. Training or non-training. The conditions were really difficult, but moves kept happening and I felt like I could do anything. It’s an unreal feeling. This has probably been my dream for the last 10 years, I’m just really, really thankful. It’s unbelievable to win the single at the biggest windsurfing event on the planet! What an amazing day at the PWA/IWT World Cup Sylt 2023! I’m Lennart Neubauer, and I’m over the moon to have taken first place in the freestyle single elimination event yesterday. The conditions were perfect, with nice side-shore winds and good waves on the sandbank, which allowed me to really play with the water and have fun.

I put everything I had into my heats, landing my full repertoire of tricks like Pasko, Shifty, and Spock Culo. My scores kept improving throughout the day as I found my flow. The path to first place definitely wasn’t easy, going up against the best in the world like Yentel Caers, Antoine Albert, Jacopo Testa, and Steven van Broeckhoven. But I stayed focused and kept pushing myself, and it paid off in the end.
Scoring a 38.3 in the final was the icing on the cake. I’ve never felt so good out on the water. This is a dream come true to win my first freestyle final at the biggest windsurfing event in the world. I’m thankful for all the support and good vibes from the crowd here on Sylt.

I’m looking forward to the double elimination heats today. The forecast is calling for even stronger winds, so I’m hoping to carry this momentum and joy forward. This is just the beginning!
